They say that everyone is born right handed and that only the best of us overcome it. If you are reading this then I assume that you are one in the small percent of people who are left handed. Society makes doing almost anything left handed a pain, but don’t let that get in the way of your music. I’m here to tell you that you can get left handed 12 string guitars.

If being a lefty is a sign of great artistic and musical talent you want to be sure to use that gifted hand to play instead of limiting your talent to what you can coach yourself to perform with your right hand. 12 string guitar is enough of a challenge without trying to switch hands.

First, there really is no substitution for the real thing. Although it is possible to convert a guitar from right to left handed it isn’t a real great idea. Specialty shops that provide this service can be difficult to find. It is also hard to find a master guitar craftsman who knows their stuff and can perform the conversion properly. Such drastic changes may weaken the guitar rendering it unfit to play. All things considered, it is just not a good idea to convert a right handed guitar.

However rare they are out there you just need to keep looking.

Whether you plan on serenading with some classical, belting out the blues like Lead Belly or rocking like Slash from Guns and Roses the finer choice is a twelve string even if you are left handed. The world needs the left handed 12 string guitarists.
