A 12 string gives you a fuller yet sweeter feel to the music, and as a musician I have found that using a 12 string on certain songs can give the song a groove and a feel that you just can't attain with a six string guitar.

The top of their guitars are made from Solid Spruce, while the back or side can be mahogany, solid rosewood, maple, bubinga or spalted maple. They come in a variety of finishes including a satin antique violin finish. The tuning machines are usually either gold or nickel diecast. The guitars themselves are very comfortable to play and provide excellent sound.

These guitars are usually very durable and will last a long time while sustaining playability. I know someone who has had one for 30 years and it still plays like he just bought it. The only negatives about these guitars and they are small ones, is the bridge pins may wear down over time and the tuners aren't as good as some other brands you might play. Other than that though, Alvarez 12 strings are a great addition to any collection.

Possibly the best thing about them could be the price. While some of the more custom models can run upwards of $750, you can likely find a used one for less than $500, making it a bargain purchase. You can find quite a few models on eBay, but no matter what model you choose you will likely be happy. An Alvarez 12 string guitar will make you happy with the way it plays and sounds and can provide a great product at a great price.
